2015 The story of Lisin- fight for beauty attire for pangcah

Xu Xia Mei (徐夏妹), a.k.a. traditional mother and designer. As a little girl, she developed an interest in sewing and mending clothes using materials available around her.

After elementary school, she went to Northern Taiwan to learn how to make clothes. Then in 1986, Ms. Xu began designing clothes, and in 2006 she won the Trendy Aboriginal Costume Award.

She never forgot her root, though, and moved back to Hualien County. Her tribal designs can be seen and purchased at the Lishen PangCah WorkShop(里信工作坊)  there.

The next time you're in Hualien, meet our workshop and learn more about amazing culture.
