Wedding Dress Creative Exhibition

海洋‧悸動”(Maula do Liya)。

In 2006, Wedding Dress Creative Exhibition

Hualien County's Ji'an Township held the "Indigenous Creative Works Exhibition." The Pangcah, a maritime and riverine tribe that follows a matrilineal system, has a solid connection to water. Being part of the Amis territory, Hualien is known as the "home of water." I incorporated the emotions and essence of the ocean and rivers into the wedding gowns showcased in the "Ocean‧Pulse" (Maula do Liya) collection.

1. Doro Mei

"Doro Mei" comes from Portuguese, meaning "rivers filled with golden sands." Portuguese explorers marveled at the richness and beauty of the Siouguluan River (amis language: Siwkolan a tarawadaw). This gown is designed for the elder women attending the wedding. The blue outer layer and golden yellow lining represent the golden river's enchantment, complementing the older women's dignity and prosperity.

2. Ocean Ripples I

As the bride steps onto the red carpet, she transforms from a girl to a bride. Her heart beats like the ocean, filled with excitement. The use of blue tones represents the ocean, and the fringed waves on the long skirt sway with the bride's footsteps, resembling the white waves of the sea dancing on her gown. (The attire of the mannequin model on the left in the picture)

3. Ocean Ripples II

With the undulating water, the blessed bride walks gracefully along the seashore, resembling the birth of a sea nymph on her special day. Continuing the use of blue tones and incorporating traditional crochet flower craftsmanship, the gown is adorned with jade beads on the flowing skirt, symbolizing the gifts brought by the ocean for the bride and her new family.

4. Song of the Sun

The sun's first light is gentle, not glaring, blending with the morning ocean breeze, refreshing and invigorating the soul. This short suit is designed for the bride's younger sister. The vibrant red tone combines with the youthful energy of the young girl. The open-back design highlights the girl's athleticism and freshness, adding liveliness to the wedding celebration.
